Started moving hives that were out of room and starting to get plugged up with nectar and brood into 10 frame hives. This is the supercedure queen from our Harbo breeder from 2020.

Always wanting to check things out I ordered 2 Caucasian queens to try.

I did take a peak at 5 or 6 of the overwintered hive to see where I was at for brood. I have a few hives that will be perfect for a split to put cells on in 2 weeks.

I always wondered how much work and knew it was a workout when I was moving bees, doing inspections, etc. Universe decided to intervene and flip my watch on to track a workout.

All looked good, few were loaded w/ quite a few drones.

Busy 3 hours of inspections! Got a great start shaking out gear to add to the packages and transition to the top feeders.

Based on follow up inspections was about 7-8 days too late, weather sucks! I’ll have to do some kind of a follow up treatment to get all those mites that are unde rtha cappings…leaning towards Formic Acid treatment.
