In this video I go through Hive 20 for it’s first inspection. Because the hive cluster has moved all the way up to the medium super, I needed to move the boxes around. In this video I go through the hive to take the medium box and put it on the bottom, then stack more medium brood boxes on top for them to move into so I have pull medium frames to put into our mating nucs in a few weeks. I also add some feed to get them growing and building and add some might away quick strips to get mite counts knocked down for a healthy start.
This was my strongest honey producer last year fill 5-6 8 frame supers. She will be evaluated again for how the hive builds this spring and may be added to our queens to graft from.
